737s coming to Mesa for DHL...?

I wish stand up lines were a thing, I’d probably bid them.

Southern, owned by Atlas, recently committed to fly 20 737s for Amazon. Between Atlas and ATSG, I believe that Amazon is now up to 80 aircraft planned. Since the Amazon ramps in CVG are designed for at least 300 aircraft, there is room for about 220 more...

Do these companies have “exclusive” deals with Amazon?

Have you seen the pay rates for Southern's 737's? Well, if JO wanted to get in on the action, he certainly could. As I understand it, Southern is having staffing issues for the 73.

Throw in homebasing, where they buy you a ticket into work, and to go home, the entire pilot group would go for it, don't kid yourself in thinking no one would do it.
Ready reserve all day or night? Packages come in and go out like clockwork, you shouldn't be sitting any reserve when airplanes aren't scheduled.
Furthermore, the industry standard is for you to be in a paid for hotel room when not on ready, with homebasing.
As bad as it sounds to you, industry standard for this sort of thing is still light years ahead of the regionals. But again, JO will do what he wants, and Mesa pilots will accept it.

JO tried that and the Mesa pilots told him to GFH

Southern air is going away at the end of the year. it's all going to be Atlas. DHL already has all the operators it needs in the US and had a well structured system in CVG, I don't see them needing MESA.

Heard they’re 737-400s with (no kidding) steam gauges and an EFIS sort-of PFD. Old, worn out 73’s. Probably no RNAV, definitely no VNAV. Maybe they’ll get a good deal on some slightly-used MAXs 🤣🤣🤣
For low wages and a (likely) 5-year training agreement you too can get a 737-type. Just think, doing your backside of the clock flying and getting to that glamorous LaQuinta van at 5am. So very believable
