Failed Checkrides

I failed 4 checkrides intrument and x3 cfi initial was a really hard and temperamental Dpe maybe passing through a bad moment in his life I don’t know, I was about to report him to the fsdo but at the end never did it. Ok we cannot change the past we need to move forward Here goes the question can I get a job in regional/121 with 4 failures? Now I’m close to my 1.500 I’m a gold seal and checkairman in a 141 flightschool.

Short answer is yes. My advice is just own your mistakes, be prepared to explain how each failure helped you grow to become a better pilot but overall and most important: “don’t place blame on anything or anyone but onto yourself”

Almost everyone fails check rides occasionally. and we all know the initial CFI reputation..
However your first instinct to blame the DPE will not put you in good stead with a recruiter.
You're going to have to find a way to explain your multiple CFI failures. This is an opportunity to create a great narrative to make an interviewer want to hire you. Don't squander it by making everything someone else's fault.
Best of luck..

It would be interesting to have the DPEs thoughts here. I wonder if you would agree with him if he said ‘I don’t know what is wrong this this applicant. He just doesn’t seem to come prepared’.

Point being, to emphasize what others are harping on, your pilots on interview boards likely have either civilian or military instructor time and possibly have some type of training/standards background and will not give you a pass on the whole ‘there was something wrong with the DPE’ mantra.

You yourself say you are a checkairman at a P141 school.
What would you think of a student who professes you must have been having a tough week when you didn’t pass that student pilot on some stage check?

Sometimes your mood affects on your decisions or you are more irritable than in a normal day I’m not saying that it’s ok but it does, I don’t know if you agree the fact here it’s that you need to be professional and don’t let this reasons affect on your work. I’m saying that his attitude wasn’t right mad irritable for the minimum reason I own my failures Maybe newbie nervous it happen to everyone but 3 times? Thanks for your answers. Looking on the future now

Wow. That’s a sentence right there^

I’m no recruiter but it would seem you have a serious lack of attention to detail to post that as a reply.

Is this a troll thread? Not sure if serious...

It may have indeed been an issue with the DPE. I know many people that for screw without being at fault, what we are all trying to say here is regardless of what happened, whenever you walk into an interview it’s all your fault 100%, you learned, made you a better pilot and you moved on. It goes great lengths when you can show you understand accountability that believe it or not a lot of people lack.

Distance yourself from those failures, keep a clean 121 record and time should help.

1. You should have reported him to the FSDO after consulting with your CFI.
Too many DPE’s get away with too much BS.

2. I’ve had initial CFI applicants fail twice, first time legitimate and second time they just had a brain freeze moment and got themselves all wrapped around the axle.
That’s human factors.

3. Since you didn’t report the DPE you’ll have to come up with ( for a recruiter) an acceptable explanation as to why you failed 3x
In my opinion it’s perfectly acceptable if one of those is “human factors” as in you just became your own worst enemy.

4. You’re on the right track. Be the best you can be in everything you do.
