A downgrade is a change in per hour rate.

Treasury has publicly said CBAs that are not changed remain legal. Only furloughs are off the table.

Bluster and posturing. UA scope has 3 categories. 76 seaters. 70 seaters and 50 seaters. There’s a ratio of UA mainline narrow body aircraft for each of these. No limit on 50 seaters or very high ratio. 70 and 76 seaters are maxed out. That’s why it was a 1 for 1 replacement, 70 seat 175 comes on and a 70 seat crj leaves. Since 50 seaters are a non issue the 550 was born. It has 3 classes of service and room for bags so no valet bag fiasco. Reviews are solid. Business travelers love them. The OTHER 50 seat fleet has single class of service. Those are what Kirby said wouldn’t survive. But they will unless he somehow swings some scope relief. It is this ratio thing that has them reconfiguring 76 seat 175s to 70 seats and that’s why the continued flying of our 700s AND our getting an additional 20 70 seat 175s is far from assured.

UA can unlock more RJ flying by adding a new small narrow body type to their fleet.

IF and when flying recovers he will need scope relief or the 50 seaters. It just depends on who can stay in business to pick up the pieces. It’s clear from the call GoJet isn’t expected to make it. Who knows Mesa may acquire their assets. It would be insane to buy them in this environment. So when it all shakes out Mesa hopes to be one of the ones left standing. He said we may come out better than when we went in.

What was said specifically that makes you think that gojet doesn't survive when people are still liking the product? Block hours doubled from June to July.

Just JO floating the idea that Gojet wouldn’t be able to take those 20 700’s from us and that we could operate it as 550’s instead as well as getting the 20 new 175’s. He kinda talked like they weren’t entirely sure if gojet could survive the downturn. Again his words not mine. Never made any mention of the 20 current 550’s.

Specifically the comment that the 700s were no longer going to another carrier and that Mesa is trying to be the 550 operator for the 20 we have.

Its unknown if GoJet can survive with just 20 airplanes. And don’t get me wrong. I wish no negativity toward any airline. Just relaying the info given.

But it isn't a change of yall's CBA rates which is against the Cares Act. Company can downgrade all they want and get away with it unfortunately and still be in compliance with the Cares Act.. See ExpressJet recent Displacement bid with all those downgrades.....
