I saw this bird a week ago in Dallas looking like it flies for the military. Any reason for the lack of paint on the tail?

They're getting ready for when AA goes belly-up. It's the "Ghost of AA" livery.

Projects bird, so I can’t disclose the locations it flies nor my identity. I wear a white mask though if that helps narrow it down. If you follow the tail number on flight aware over Nevada, the transponder gets turned off as we approach Vegas airspace. We also keep the windows shut so you can’t see in. As a bonus it stays cool with the APU running on taxi.

Mesa is cheap. The A/C was removed from the CPA with American. Cheaper to cover up the AA logo with grey paint than to repaint the entire plane.

Clearly they’re getting ready to paint them in AS colors with an Eskimo on the tail and we’re getting a ANC base and a PDX base. Jokes aside it’s just a bird that got repainted due to American taking some of the 900’s off the line due what I can only assume is a lack of demand.

Scope and legal cause for removal.

That's a good one. :) Many fun and educational hours spent with that program!

Microsoft Flight Simulator X/10. They had a Janet mission you could fly.
