Are they accepting CMEL pilots now without ATP/CTP completed? I got a note from them when I applied last month that they were only looking at candidates that already had the ATP in hand. This is what I got from them on Feb 18th, so it could have changed since then.

As you know, COVID-19 has taken its toll on our industry making pilot hiring all the more competitive. At this time, in order to continue interviewing while remaining cost-focused, our recruitment team will be prioritizing those who currently hold a Federal Aviation Administration issued ATP License. We understand the unfortunate situation this puts you in as an applicant and strongly encourage you to keep your application up to date. If and when the situation changes Mesa Airlines will be sure to update everyone.

For those willing to complete their ATP on their own time, please be sure to update our recruitment team here, and your application once it is completed.

Prior CJO are still being honored. I had a CJO prior to March of last year.

when we were hiring, some did it in Dallas, others in Phoenix. There’s no guaranteed place since it’s contracted out.

Ah, gotcha. Realized I answered the question with a question. Sorry about that.

For Dallas:

ATP Jets starts a new CTP class every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. However the Monday class is reserved only for airline-sponsored students. Individual non-airline students have the option for Wednesday or Friday class starts.

Someone earlier asked about a Sheppard Air discount from ATP Jets. Don’t do that. It is provided as part of the course…it’s free to you. The written test is also part of the course and free to you.

At ATP Jets ground school covers the first 4-days from 0800-1700 (except the 4th day is only 6 hours from 0800-1500).

There are five 2.0 hour sim lessons (FSTD 1-5). Sims may start as early as right after ground school on day 4. Sim lessons may end as late as mid-morning of Day-8.

Everyone is done with the course and the ATM test on Day-8.

ATP Jets has a 20-person testing center on-site, so even large classes (up to 70 students) are finished testing by 1600.

Go to. https://theofficeexpress.com/foodja/ (don’t use the app, use the website), find the ATP Jets virtual cafe’ and you can see the daily lunch options (7-days-a-week). That’s the cheapest and best option for lunch during ground school.

Literally the entire ATP Jets staff, even the admins and test proctors, are pilots and will help out with anything you need. Just relax and enjoy the course, there is no evaluation other than a multiple choice written test at the end of ground school that is super easy.

And make sure to really use that rejected landing required distance question skill every day on the line………… might just be the most useless question I’ve seen on a written.

Take the Dispatcher written. There are questions about entering a holding pattern. The turboprop isolated airport fuel requirement is right up there too.
