I will be in the same class as well. I have to agree I definitely thought we would have had the ability to be able to at least do some sort of cooking in our room. Maybe it will only be a short term hotel until they can get us into something more long term.

Nope, I was told we can expect to be here for up to 3 months. A instructor got covid and took out a few other instructors with it so now they have a back log of as much as month on some of our training. Being without a car for 3 months is going to be a challenge. I wonder if the shuttle will take us to a nearby restaurant. If breakfast is $15 I am afraid to see what a dinner costs. Doesn't seem like there is an option to store food in your room for more than a few days.

this is fairly normal at most regional’s. The hotel I was in for initial had a microwave and fridge but no kitchen or anything like that. You can still go shop and get items you can microwave. We pulled together and purchased a grill and the class grilled out quite a bit. Some classes got put into hotels with kitchens some like mine didn’t. Luck of the draw.

Pro tip: if your hotel sucks, just claim you saw bugs in your room and they’ll move you out.

But no, it’s not normal to have a kitchen in your room. Hotels usually have microwaves available, and get used to microwave meals or sandwiches if you don’t want to/ can’t eat out.

Breakfast in the morning is free so make it a point to get ready early to give yourself enough time to grab it.

shuttle service should be provided. If you cozy up to the hotel staff they’ll usually bend the rules to help you if you have to go somewhere

like someone else said y’all should pitch in for a grill if your hotel doesn’t have one. That’s what my class did.

Reach out to union reps with this. Hopefully you guys can band together and send emails separately this is unacceptable. There’s other hotels. Also definitely say y’all saw bugs on the bed!

Some people get lucky having a kitchen, but that is not normal for new-hire lodging. There are some restaurants nearby, but not a ton. Also, there is a microwave downstairs if your room doesn't have one.
