A more healthy balanced relationship exists amongst pilots and their employers. Its not perfect at jetblue, why? Because for it to be as good as it can be, the rest of the market needs to be free and competitively open. The labor market needs to have an outlet for its people as much as the current market has an outlet for management.

.

Jetblue makes their own money, they have their own markets. They actually have the capital to do whatever they want with. Plus unlike most managements they realize the benefit in keeping their work force happy to keep unions away. There is nothing wrong with that, in an ideal world you shouldn't need unions. I've heard JB pilots actually have a pretty nice "agreement" with the company.

The regionals are different, they are the lowest bidders. It's not that they can't afford to raise salaries but more than likely they will lose out on contracts. Places like Comair, Xjet, in part, have done poorly because of their high cost.

United was already speaking to colgan about flying 12 Q's out of denver, maybe they will capitalize on the Q now

No offense but what would make you think that? JBLU has less cash than SKYW on hand, they've taken loans out at high interest rates, have a negative profit margin(annually), and a smaller cash flow than RAH. They aren't out of the Blue just yet.

This has nothing to do with managements it's all decided by the labor group. Their workforce has been anything but happy from what the ones I meet there always say.

You heard? If you don't know the specifics of their contract with the company it's a little hard to speak about the wellness of their pilot group.

Part of their high cost is in the salaries. There's a reason these two companies you've mention have taken paycuts. Raised salaries contribute to the high operating costs. So yes it is that they can't afford to raise salaries at these places.

All hail Toiletduck. The wise one. Nothing to do with management? Really? So the labor group can do as they wish??? Is that why Hulas formes an alter ego, while Skywest management rewards their pilots with a fair contract with more flying? Actually, it's all about management and their idea of how they want to treat their employees. Union/non-union. Last I checked JB is not a regional airline, they can do whatever they'd like with their funds. It's their money, Skywest RAH are contractors that depend on their partners for survival. I'm sure you know that. Also, I heard from a JB pilot.

Yes they can it's a legal fact. A labor group has the right to unionize. It's voted on by said group the management of a company has no say in this subject outside of a "we'll promise this" begging offer.

You're short sighted. Look at why several places went unionized to start with. SKYW has also fired pilots for no other reason that just not agreeing with management.

Yes but you stated JB had "capital to do whatever they want with" which they don't. The are short on money just like everyone else. Unless their idea of doing whatever they want is no more than just downsizing. I'm sorry that my taking 2min to look at someone's account balance is such a ****off for you. You realize all that is available to the public right?

"MAG has faced some significant challenges over the past several months—from several different lawsuits to debt restructuring—and there are sure to be many more ahead. Upcoming challenges include the Delta litigation and United flying. The Delta situation remains the same; the judge has not yet ruled on the case and we will update you once a decision is rendered. With United, one of our contracts expires next year, and it is our understanding that United or MAG may provide notice to the other this Fall that they wish to extend, amend or cancel the current agreement. While you may have heard doomsday messages from some pilots, keep in mind that their information was likely taken out of context from discussions with management about worst case scenarios. There are many factors involved in this issue, and we will not know the decision for some time"
