Mesa's AmericaWest Exclusivity?

Anyone know when Mesa's exclusivity contract to fly out in Phoenix for West (US Airways) is up? I heard that it ended well before their contract for flying with Airways was up. Just curious if anyone knew the timeframe before there may be some shuffling for new west flying in the Airways system.

Forever. Especially since the America West portion of US Airways is going to be scrapped soon.

Why do you have to pick on Mesa, and hope for their speedy demise?

Leave us alone!

The original AW contract ends in 2012, not sure if the exclusive part of that ends earlier.

MW stated he is looking to secure growth for the year 2011. This was right after he said don't look for any recalls in 2010.

A day or two later he was heard in a recurrent saying that the company "Doesn't NOT have plans for a recall class in January". I think he is becoming the new JR.

And Stig, I missed the part where I said "Hey Mesa, why won't you DIE?!". It's probably because that wasn't my question or statement.

I don't know who told you that but I heard the rumor of a day or two later he said he can't say that there is not a recall class in the works.

Mark Wahlberg is or VP, It is a side job since his movies and his radio shows ain't doing so well. Jonathan Orstein sent him through the Mesa CEO development program that opened after they closed the pilot program. Mark is looking to kill a airline and take a golden chute just like the big boys. That way he doesnt have to be Hollywoods bitsh.

Very simple..... The smell of jet fuel, always does it for some of us!!! Okay back to the original topic of Mesa's AWA Exclusive deal.

You want someone to pat you on the head and tell you it is ok? No, not going to happen when kids cannot go to school next semester, mom cannot get that surgery she needs for her back, and you have to move out of the house you lived in for 20 years because the dirt cheap $1500/mo mortgage at a very low rate is too cost prohibitive with all your other obligations taking more priority.

Boo Hoo. You have no problem dishing it out but when it comes full circle you get defensive.

"forever"?!? Keep dreaming kiddo! It is no secret that not many tears will be shed by the Cactus group when YV is sent on its merry way in the near future... hope JO has a contingency plan besides their life line of AWE feed that will NOT last forever.

Not trying to flame - just making a point. If by "group", you mean pilot group... your tears or lack of tears has nothing to do with management decisions - an unfortunate reality for all pilot groups. But maybe by group you mean management group at Cactus. Which one do you mean? I hope you're wrong because that would mean liquidation for us. I just want to keep my job and move forward someday. I'm sure if you were in my shoes you'd want the same thing. I wish the best for you and your family - love, health, happiness, and wealth. I mean it. Cactus Rules! but I work for Mesa.

Back in AW days it was common tribal knowledge that Doug Parker had made public statements to the effect that he intends to get rid of YV at the first opportunity. He personally despises OJ.

Does that still stand after the merger? Who knows, but based on the history I certainly would not bet your job on DP extending the contract after 2012. Ask a cactus pilot next time you meet one, they should know what noises DP has been making lately.

The 900's are the only reason DP would renew mesa, so it probably depends on how useful those are and how hard they would be too replace.
