Yes, just a spare. I looked it up in the computer yesterday thinking Mesa might have been covering flying for a wholly-owned, but it is just being used as a spare on downgraded Mesa -900 flights. Today it is scheduled for SAV-CLT-LIT-CLT-SAV (so far.)

I don't think Airways minds playing along with Mesa's little contractual scam and buying off a few pax here and there--it keeps their costs down significantly, and as we've seen with Eagle they're willing to play whatever games necessary to keep costs as low as possible. |

Currently in the 900 course; after sims, we spend a day and a half doing 200 differences training, 'just in case' we wind up having to fly it
That tiny little differences course costs very little compared to the massive savings on CA sick and vacation pay!!! Can't blame Mesa for doing this. |

Everytime a Mesa 900 CA calls in sick or takes vacation, they're paid at the -200 rate--Airways has saved millions of dollars over the last decade because Mesa keeps those 200s on their certificate.

Annnnnd so that when you upgrade onto a 700/900 (or, perversely, an E175) when you call in sick or take vacay you'll be paid -200 payrates.

That is who to blame everything on....that's is in the contact. The company is to blame for not following things that are in the contract. Pretty simple. |
