So why on earth, would you do it for 1/3 of the pay you will get elsewhere? Please help us to understand.
I dont know alot and im still checking my options but i spoke to some pilots at other regionals who told me their training took 5 month and they are not flying alot on reserve.. Plus if i add the 20,000 bonus that messa offers i think i can live with that.
But again i dont know alot and just checking my options

You'll never ever see the full $20,000, and the pilots here would resent you for taking it since it's outside our established contract. Literally every other option is better.

If you are considering Mesa PLEASE reread this entire thread starting at Page 1. You'll be glad you did and choose to go elsewhere.

Default Is Mesa the place to be?

I'm trying to sort through all the different opportunities right now. I ran across this

PilotJobs | Expanding Pilot Groups Means a Short Wait for Upgrade to Captain

Looks like 18 month upgrade and $60k+ first year FO? Does that sound right?

How does it compare to say an Air Wis http://www.airwis.com/content/pilots...ationFlier.pdf

or Endeavor?

Become an Endeavor Air Pilot

or maybe even CommutAir?

Pilots | CommutAir

Thanks for your thoughts and info.

The upgrade is a lie. What the company is doing (in case you haven't read these forums) is upgrading Captains, putting them on reserve, and making them doing First Officer flying. Your idea of quick isn't so quick when you don't actually get "PIC time" that these great companies prefer.

Thank goodness for the 1500 hour rule, else there would be standing armies of these guys willing to work for free. Even with 1500 hours, it seems some still wear blinders by choice. What ever, it proves what P.T. Barnum said all those years ago to be correct.
I'm not saying Mesa is a bad choice for anyone, for some it may be their only choice, but just in terms of aviation, I've seen people commit suicide in front of my face in terms of life decisions, that just left me baffled. No matter how much common sense, advice, or flat out telling them what to do, they will not listen to their own detriment. Might as well get out the popcorn.
