Mesa rerouted question

Just curious if anyone knows. My union reps are not answering their phones. (so much for union support
)
Scheduling just called me, interrupting my rest. I did have a 6AM show, and now they are saying I have a 12:50pm show. That still leaves me 10 hours + rest from now.
They told me to notify my captain because he is not answering his phone or the hotel phone. So I did, and he told me to not tell them he knows about the new show time.
Should I tell them the truth or should I lie and possibly lose my job cause I lied? Why the F would anyone not want a later show? He seemed pretty ****ed.
Is there some contractual or FAR reason?

Your company interrupted your rest but they got away with it because you voluntarily answered the phone. They got you to interrupt the captain's rest by calling him, you did their dirty work for them. Your captain didn't want his rest interrupted for whatever reason he might have, without knowing your schedule it's hard to guess.
Nobody's going to know you told your captain anything. Except for this post on APC for everyone to see.

Idk how new you are but first thing is never answer the phone when the company is calling. They'll leave a message. I wouldn't have called the captain either if the company can't get in touch with him then too bad. The company can't blame you if the captain isn't notified. That's not your job and they shouldn't have been calling you all in the middle of the night anyway unless you all are on duty.

I'm lost for words.. read 117.. interupted rest, reassigned report times.. gosh..
1... never answer a phone from company, company does not pay for cell phones on a trip.
2. Never report at any different time than what is on you're crew card to report. It is the companies fault they didn't schedule properly.
3. Read your contract
4. Since you answered, make sure you have 8 hours uninterrupted rest otherwise your fatiqued, put a fatique report and even an asap if you want.
5. Why would you get fired?

1. Receive phone call from CS
2. Let that ************ ring.
3. Review voicemail from CS.
4. Determine legality by reviewing contract.
5. If legal. Accept via self notify function on FLICA. If not legal. Do not accept.
6. Wash. Rinse. Repeat

First off I know it sucks that you are in this position. The company can't put you in rest then require you to do something. So I would call back and let them know you couldn't get in touch with the CA and you need your 10 hours rest.
However, this might not fly well with them.
