I would hate to be him going through pilot training right now, I cannot imagine the barriers put up around him. Poor kid wonders if he succeeds due to his dad or his performance. I'm sure he makes the best of it, but damn.

I was a T-37 flight commander at Willie in the late 80s when the son of the ATC commander was assigned to my flight. I was called into the DOs office every week asking how he was doing and was told "if he sneezes you hand him the handkerchief." Not being a flight doc I didn't know what that meant. Half way through the class I was fired as the flight commander when I wouldn't guarantee the DO I would pass the kid and all his friends "to keep his morale up." Can't imagine what its like to have the VPs son.

Concur... never have seen that except on large crew aircraft.

T-38 schedule, for those that care:
Cabin alititude is 8000 from 8000 thru FL230.
Above FL230, it is "(Altitude - 6000') divided by 2". So FL320 will give you 13000' cabin.

Another incident. Aircraft now limited to 5,000 feet. Crew was doing high G maneuvers at 10,000 feet when they experienced hypoxia-like symptoms. It is unclear (to me, anyway) if the 10,000 feet was the aircraft altitude or the cabin altitude.
