Age Limit for ANG?

What's the current age limit for the Air National Guard?

Is it 39?

How do I get in touch with a recruiter?

I tried calling the number listed on their website, but received no reply and when I left a message I did not receive a call back.

I'd locate an Air Guard unit near you, make an appointment & walk in. You need it right from the horse's mouth.

The regulation for the age limit for ANG applicants for pilot training is that you have to not have reached your 30th birthday prior to beginning UPT.
See page 12 here. http://static.e-publishing.af.mil/pr...005.pdf#page10 that follows the USAF UPT age AFI as well.

Because it takes a while to bring you on board, get the training slots, physical, officer school, etc etc., most units require you to be 28 or under to interview. That said, each unit has its own policy, and NGB is currently using 35 as the age for waivers to be issued to (that came from someone at NGB with whom I spoke...haven't seen that in writing anywhere). I also heard (take it with a grain of salt) there are waivers for some people older than that depending on the circumstances (usually prior enlisted from what I've heard). Doesnt hurt to go find your way over to a base and start asking around, but talk to pilots at a unit, not a generic recruiter. That said, I've never heard of a 39 year old going to UPT.

Certainly not 39. He maybe talking about Army. I imagine they has some WO program that allows for older pilots. Perhaps if the original post was more clear...

Rumor, rumor only: Waivers have been issued to people in their 40s

I do not know the circumstances behind said waivers. Considering how bad the manning is across AFRES and the ANG, I would definitely make contact with any units you might be interested in.

My personal opinion only: If they want you in their unit, they will find a way to make it happen.

How could a unit commission someone at age 40+ when they could never become retirement eligible? I'm not sure rests legal unless there's some enlisted time. Besides the payback isn't there.

The max age is 30 (must start UPT before age 30), however waivers are being granted to age 35.

Call recruiters from the individual Guard units, tell them you want to be a pilot, and they will direct you to the UPT POC. Also check out the units' website (af.mil page).

Check out baseops.net for Guard pilot postings.
