Default Civil Air Patrol ???

Anyone on here working as a CAT E position in Civil Air Patrol? I’m looking to make a move out of active reserves and finish up my last 5 years in this program. I’m been pretty burned out on flying and all the queep surrounding it for a while now. Finally took 3 months off from it this summer and realized I’m not gonna miss it at all, I’m just done. I’ve looked into ALO but it just doesn’t appeal to me at all and wondering if this would be a better fit. I’ve started application process and heard the brief about it from the recruiter, but looking for anyone who has made the leap and provide some honest insight about the pluses and minuses (I get the no TRS, points/no pay, GI Bill transfer not able, etc). More like.... how much time you spend, what do you like best/worst, how does it fit with your airline/other job, I wish someone would have told me (insert here), etc.

Thanks in advance. You can just PM me too if you want.

Again thanks

My dad did it in the mid 50s, does that count?

Seriously though, I have known a few back in the 80s and it seemed like a pretty easy assignment.

If it's points, no pay, how hard can it be?

You’d be surprised apparently, after talking to the ALO director I got the impression it was more work than just being a active pilot and all the crap that entails, and all for free (minus points for retirement but I digress)....but, I’m pretty sure it was more of him than the program.., unfortunately I’d have to work for him so “no thanks”
