Default FAA Looking at VA Records (Indictments!)

Rick you locked out comments on the above thread. I’m sure it’s intentional in order to keep the focus on guys needing to un**** their FAA stuff, but I think it bears some discussion.

Specifically, a few guys (the 5,000 number looks like a bit of an exaggeration when you read the article) are letting their greed for a few more dollars make all vets look like money grubbing welfare queens. The dollars involved are less than the value of a 2-3 day trip every month. They are putting their own flying careers at risk, but more importantly stupid stuff like this has the potential to become the excuse for policies like means testing benefits, tightening benefit eligibility requirements dramatically, or worse options. If you need VA assistance get it! But don’t turn around and then lie about it to the FAA. For all of those that see this as purely targeting veterans (which it currently is), supposedly they will be cross checking with the SS disability database in the future.

Long story short, don’t be a greedy fool.

The thread above may be "stickied," and locked, but the first post in that thread is a link to an open thread on this subject. It's still available for comment.

It's of interest to mil folks, but the whole thing started with SS disability so we're keeping the discussion in the health forum.
