Security Clearance / Application Question

Those that fly commercial, if you have a current security clearance would you add that to your resume? All the companies look like they run a standard background check on applicants...

Thanks.

Only if they specifically require it because of DoD or other government contracts.

It's kind of a given with military folks, but not bad to list it at the bottom under the misc stuff. It's a reminder that they probably won't find too many skeletons when they do THEIR background check. Especially if it's TS+.

A few folks do leave the military because their clearance got yanked...

And it's possible to get your SIDA yanked by doing something stoopid too.

It definitely doesn’t hurt, although I’m not sure it helps much either. The airlines are interested in your experience and qualifications , and how well you work with others. They’ll tease this out in the interview and depending on the airline will offer you a CJO prior to a background check. Since they’ll be doing their own check anyway, it probably doesn’t matter much.

If you have the space for it, then maybe include it. But considering space can be tight trying to fit everything onto one page, I wouldn’t leave out other pertinent experience just to include it.
