Enlistment Question

Is there anything mandated that stipulates you must serve an initial part of your enlistment before you can switch over from enlisted to officer. I want to enlist for maybe a year or two, just so I can get the SLRP and finish my MBA. But my final goal is to ultimately receive a Pilot Slot via. (ANG, AFR, or ACTIVE DUTY). Is this method of evolution unorthodox on my-behalf (enlisted to officer); or should I just go for the gusto and Apply strictly for OCS?????

I can't speak for the Air Force which is what I assume you are looking at. But in the Army you can drop a packet for Warrant Officer at any time as long as its for a flight slot. I believe OCS is the same way as long as you have your degree.

If you want to go ANG or AFRC- WHY EVER go on active duty as either O or E? Do you have a unit to join in either the ANG or AFRC? Not all will have SUPT slots that aren't already lined up for others. I would say it's a better shot, all considered, than going into active duty and HOPING to compete for an OTS Slot. This all assumes you are looking for USAF wings. I believe you can compete right away. OCS/OTS doesn't always have a good number of pilot slots, so you may have to be top of your class. Don't let anything stop you, keep doing your homework, don't worry about orthodox. Took 4 years to get to SUPT myself after graduation/commisioning.
