Just FYI, deus finds any thread with Southwest in the title and trolls with completely false information. If you want a real SWA pilots perspective, feel free to PM me. I will give you a no BS opinion on both airlines. Most of the info above (except deus’) is mostly correct.

Complete garbage information. Nothing could be further from the truth.

The thing is.. if you talk to a SWA pilot.. they are going to tell all they know.. which is what they only know... if you go to a back surgeon he is going to tell you he can fix your problem.. with surgery... that is all he knows to do... when there are other options out there...

If you talk to a United guy... he's flown the 737... and the Bus.. and the 75/76 and the 777/787... they have the big picture.. kill me now if I had to fly that 1960s RJ for 30 more years... but the guys that only know it... love it... wonder why..

SWA pilots love to non-rev in first class to Europe on Vacay...

Garbage. Completely false.

Ok dude. You are a known troll. This is my last reply to any of your posts except to say that every single post that I have seen from you concerning SWA is false and inflammatory.

I am not a SWA cheerleader, but I do work here for better or worse. It’s a good place to work, but so is United, Delta, and AA. I will give anyone who asks an honest and realistic picture of what life is like here.

Commuters might like productivity, but some people don't want to be that productive... productivity means no long layovers at cool destinations, and often means not enough time to work out on the overnights.

But of course there's more than one way to skin the days off cat. Productivity is good if I have to go to work, but I'd prefer to get paid to stay home.
That's a matter of work rules, then, not a matter of how much a pilot actually "works".

I know plenty of guys making more money in a shorter period of time sitting around the pool on international layovers than the folks slugging out 4 legs per day, every day. Their work is also compressed into longer trips with longer time off in between (quite commuter-friendly).

So, that's why I asked for a little clarification of exactly what he meant.

But that was my point... the SWA guy does know better, so he justifies his world... the UAL/DAL guy knows both kinds of flying..

I am sure there is some that have worked at SWA and the legacies... they are the ones to query...
