I don’t think it should be blasted on the internet. Everyone’s human, mistakes were made, and hopefully she recovers and has a good career. There’s been a whole lot worse done by higher profile people. She (and her boss) just happened to be in a spot where it couldn’t be ignored.

Guess it kinda depends on the nature of the mistake. Government employees get demoted or discharged for all kinds of reasons that are made public. And I'm not really looking for salacious details. If she screwed the wrong person than I don't care. Nuff said. However, if she did something dumb or dangerous in a piece of tax-payer purchased equipment than I don't think it's inappropriate to say so. But to say what they did about her and leave it like that sure seems like an incomplete explanation. I was just hoping someone could close that open door.

If she wasn't a cute chick nobody would care that an O3 got removed from an OIC position, and it wouldn't be in the news (other than maybe AF Times).
This kind of thing is HR business, not for public consumption. Doesn't matter whether it was sex, or a minor goof or misjudgement in a jet. Only exception is really for felonies involving formal charges, or in some cases very senior officers.

I'm surprised anyone wants to accept a command position these days.
