Army Aviation Officer to major airline
Ok so I’m an Army Aviation officer(reserves(rotor wing)) I fly for a 135 cargo((fixed wing)(full time job)) planning to move into 121(regional). I have OIC time in my unit, volunteer work, BS degree, honor graduate, no DUI, no infractions or anything related to violation of the law. No check-ride failures, CFII/AGI. When it comes to submitting applications to the big 3 how competitive will I look ? If I decide to apply with no 121 TPIC, would I still be competitive or the TPIC is definitely a must ? Thanks in advance

I’ve flown with “rotor heads” from all branches of services. I suggest you ask them what helped them get on with the majors. Some flew for the Regionals others were fortunate to get some fixed wing assignments on active duty or reserves. Flying 135 is good if it is multi turbine pic but recommend talking to folks that went your path.

E120 typed. I meet all of hiring criteria for the big 3(since I haven’t seen “TPIC required” in their minimums). What I’m afraid of is if I start sending applications and I get a “get more experience” email and then they won’t look again at my app?

Fill out the apps as soon as you meet the hiring minimums. Most use centralized apps, either Airline Apps or Pilot Credentials. Your app is then scored by the different airlines on a regular basis as long as you keep them updated. I would recommend monthly.
Also, join the RTAG (Rotary To Airline Group) Nation FB Page. Others who have gone the same route.

But their minimum criteria is not the same as competitive.
E-120 probably won't be enough, even with TPIC. Possible exception for SWA, they hired plenty of skywest 120 drivers (CA's, not FO's).
But apply everywhere that you'd be willing to work, the mil wings might be a wildcard, even coming from RW.
But I suspect your fastest path will be a regional, jet time, jet PIC, and 121 time all count.

United scores apps daily. Delta scores once/year and can also get a rescore triggered by an internal reference (I think). BL: for some, it’s important your app is good before you hit publish.

If you're competitive for DL, definitely have your app pristine in case it gets looked at. If you're just throwing an app in to show long-term interest and are not really competitive, it won't hurt you because the computer will look at your app any time they do reviews. If it's not pulled to be scored manually, then there's no penalty or delay next time.
But if you're going to have a buddy get your app scored, plan that one carefully. Your app needs to be pristine, and you might want to delay a few months if you're about to check a significant box in the near future (masters, new type, upgrade, LCA, etc). If you pull the trigger now, you won't be able to do it again for a year.
