ALPA insurance and Tricare
I signed up for ALPA’s Critical Illness insurance and their accident insurance. Looking at the benefits, it appears that Tricare should cover most of the same things (I’m retired military).
Is anyone smart on this and able to tell me if it’s worth paying for the ALPA insurance if you already have Tricare?

Probably look into Tricare supplement from someplace like MOAA or your current employer. The copays and fees have become steeper than most retirees expected.

I would also look at Tricare where you live. My wife once had a “civilian” duty assignment that was in a major metropolitan area with no military nearby. The nearest doctor for me was a two hour drive, for the kids 1.5. We ended up doing general checkups and routine care out of our own pocket.
