Post Military guy making the transition

Hello, all. Welcome to my first post. I'm a Coast Guard FW pilot making the big jump next Spring/Summer and am humbly looking for any advice from you sage aviators out there on how to set myself up for success.

Here are my stats:
TT: 4000
ME Turine: 3500
Turbojet: 900
GA: 500
Tickets: CFI/II (exp) A&P (10 yrs experience) AGI/IGI
Falcon 20 Type (No type available for the Casa 235)
Aircraft Commander in Falcon 20 and HC-144 (casa 235)

I'm signed up with MIL2ATP in January for their ATP + Emerald coast prep package so I'm squared away there.

My top three choices are: 1.FedEx 2. American 3. JetBlue but I'm happy to fly for whomever.

Primarily I'm looking for any advice on how best to time my separation from the CG with publishing and 'getting the call'. Of course that is a bit of a crap shoot but I'm just trying to lessen the potential employment gap.

I deeply appreciate any and all advice and words of wisdom and I can't wait to join you all. Thanks!!!

The airlines understand mil and terminal leave, you can apply/interview while still on AD, typically up to six months out, and usually begin class on terminal leave (if you get hired and offered a class date that soon).

Get all your min quals knocked out asap, get the apps out, and start working your network and any job fairs. Apps should be updated every month or two, and it's a full time job.

I hope your choice of airlines is based on specific domicile geography. If not it should look something like this...

DL/UA/AA/FDX/UPS/SWA/AS/HA/JB/NK

Possibly other cargo or ACMI if it suits your lifestyle.

Regionals last.

Curious why you rate Jetblue over SWA/UPS/UAL/DAL?

JetBlue, while a fine company, is not in the same league as the others in terms of long term earnings and QOL.

The best advice I can give is apply to ALL the majors.

The best job is the one that gives you a class date.

If you have multiple/subsequent offers, then and only then do you have a decision to make.

Flown with a few Coasties here at SWA. Like previously stated, shotgun all of the majors. Best of luck.

Best guess is that he wants a Boston domicile if not FedEx.

AS/HA over JB? Worse contracts, less growth, smaller companies. Interesting assessment.

Yes, It's more about location for me as I'm on the East Coast and want to keep dead head time down. But I will for sure apply to all; Delta could easily be in my top 3. SW, I dunno, I hear they have very stagnant upgrade time and some have said they are not as military friendly as used to be. But I dunno, is that bad gouge? thanks for the response! I appreciate it.

General order, the exact order depends on where you live, or want to live. I admittedly have a western outlook.
