If your goal is the airlines, then unfortunately yes, it’s worthless.

It's valuable if you want to work in the drone business. Not for manned aviation.

Also they may not really have a shortage of pilots in flying billets (yet). The shortage is experienced pilots in non-flying jobs which require a pilot (service HQ staff, operational HQ staff, joint HQ staff, drones, etc).
Not sure if you misread my or his post, but he’s still in a flying billet. I’m saying with this pilot shortage, I would think there are surely flying billets for a current and qualified pilot/aircraft commander that don’t involve flying drones. My recommendation was to press hard to avoid this upcoming drone tour and stay in a flying billet if at all possible.

I'm assuming he already played all of his cards to get out of it, almost nobody (nobody period who's interested in airlines) volunteers for that kind of duty. It's the military, sometimes the writing is on the wall.

Only 11 flying sets of orders for 40 pilots. At least I keep my flight pay.
