When this happens, you will need $$ and a career.
Having Fixed Wing Multi-Engine flight time will open many many more doors than RW time. Period.

There’s nothing wrong with building your resume (career potential) while you honorably serve your country.

After you secure a good future, ask to go fly RW and then scratch that itch.
Not to sound ungrateful or like a pessimistic salty Joe but this is essentially where my mind is at. I have a great desire to fly and am humbled to be a part of Army aviation...BUT probably 3 years ago I was red-pilled and have become aware of what you are talking about and have since started doing things that help the Army and myself.

Would you mind posting or sending me a PM in regards to your experiences as an Army FW pilot? I have never met or known of one and the cadre here at Rucker like to put them down whenever anyone asks about them (same as when they talk about any airframe that isn't theirs).

Yeah fixed wing will set you up better for an airline job, but I cherish my experience as an Army helicopter pilot and wouldn't change that even for a job at the majors right now.
Sorry I should have been more specific. FW is not my main focus based off of theoretical future employment; above that is the mission set, alleged quality of life vs RW QOL, and the slight possibility that if I decide to get out of the Army that a job I've wanted since I was a little kid might be available for me...just might make me want to choose that over the awesome hooah stuff the RW people do.
