And that's serious, coming from a guy wearing recon pins.

I knew this was all getting real last month when my gym at the local USMC base closed down.

I wish the absolute best for CAPT Crozier, but I’ll believe reinstatement when he is back on the TR and steaming along the open seas.

Definitely a fair point not to mention will he be medically fit after all is said and done after his CV diagnosis.

Doesn't preclude his being reinstated, although that's looking less likely.

Typical holding pattern assignment for a relieved CO. Usually a small office with a desk and computer so he can work on his retirement papers.

I don't have time to distinguish between the unfortunate and the incompetent.

General Curtis LeMay

filler....

Any naval officer knows that it's incumbent upon the CO not to be mistaken for either.

Or any military leader for that matter. It could be argued that the world in general and Curtis Lemay in particular were lucky some of his advice wasn't followed. Captain Crozier's diagnosis probably made the whole question moot in the end. Certainly he'll have enough TIG to retire as an O-6. For that matter he may have intended to call it a career at the O-6 level anyway.
