Best to all and good luck out there, you are a valuable commodity outside the cockpit too (probably more so), should you go that direction.

Had a guy in our unit do this at the 16 year point. Took the pay and ran. He is now in the reserves and will get a reserve retirement. The VSP money he took comes directly off of the retirement pay he gets starting at 60. Not sure of the details, but I am sure if you retire from the reserves, your check will not be very big until late. My whole point, is to invest that money wisely.;)

Pay Back

Plan to buy into the GS retirement and phase in TSP...up to 5% match/year and max out my ROTH IRA.

--Also went to Reno for my 1st business trip -- Single deck Blackjack best odds in the house :D.

ReCAL,

Any idea if your friend is paying back the after tax amount or the full amount...VSP was taxed at 25%. Thanks.

Gotta love it when the government is giving you an incentive to get out and then takes 25% of it back. Quite comical actually.

You interview yet? How did it go?

I'm waiting 1) for the FY08 board results to come out, hopefully this week or next, and 2), for the state department to figure out how employees of that company will be treated in any future "incidents" overseas.

Never yelled at anyone, and yes paid for uniform items. Your missing the point roc, you should read more closely.

Anyone hear of rumors that VSP folks have been asked if they'd come back to active duty?
