After military
Hey
I know this is an airline thread but since one doesn't have the complete option to choose what you fly in the military, if you were to get posted to a helicopter what options are there once you leave military flying? Do guys usually go for medivac helicopter jobs? |
Lots of different commercial helo jobs out there.

Heck, I know 3 E-2 NFO's that are flying for airlines now. FW PIC is always good...also, depending on the numbers (in the Navy anyway) there are opportunities (only a few) to switch to a fixed wing community. I did a tour in SH-60B's, then flew E-2's. I've got a couple buds who switched to P-3's after HSL.
In the Army, you can apply to go RC-12's. HTH Spongebob |

I got the green light from cinchome to take orders to Meridian to build time for the resume, but rumor is there is a draft right now for T-34 instructors at Milton right now. |

First recommendation is don't leave military service (active or Guard/Reserve) prior to getting fixed-wing certified through previously mentioned options (Army RC-12, AF/Navy instructor at primary/advance pilot training base).
Second, if you were to end up in special ops rotors, you would never want to leave. Travel to distant lands, meet wonderful people of exotic cultures, and then kill them. Why quit? We hired an Army Guard helo pilot into my C-5 reserve unit. He had to attend AF fixed-wing transition (mini-pilot training), then C-5 training, and is now large and in charge flying FRED around the world. |

Are you tactical jet? There is a push to get tactical jet types down here at Milton, especially Marine, at least thats what the rumor is at 6. There is a lack of tactical jet guys down here and tailhookers as well. My community (E2/C2) is starting to push guys down here as well.
