Anyone know where you can see pay scales for the different branches of the reserves? Curious what a pilot can pull there his first year.

Here's the breakdown for a 2nd Lt in Pilot Training at Del Rio. Basic Pay (Taxable)- 2469.30/ month Flight Pay (Taxable)- 125.00/ month Basic Allowance Sub (non taxable)- 192.74/ month BAH (Del Rio- Non taxable)- 829(w/ dependents) 642 (Single) You would probably live on base at UPT. Therefore, you would not receive BAH. You would also not have any power bills, water bills, etc. Only cable and phone. Therefore, about $3428/ month for a single guy. If I remember correctly, lost about 8% of it to tax. So take home about $3100 per month. This proves most of our points of not joining the military for the money. Join it because you want to kill bad guys and break their ****!! Good luck. |
Pay is the same regardless of service. Just do a search on mililtary pay scales I am sure it will come up if you google it.
FWIW... O-1 ( 2nd LT ) less than 2 years service is 2469 per month. Housing allowance w/o dependent $527.10 per month. BAS for officers $192.74. Flight Pay $125 per month ( goes to $650 at 6 years ) Note: Base pay and flight pay are taxable the others are not. So, in round numbers about 3300 per month in round numbers. |
