Rest in Peace my fellow Aviators.

I was floored reading this news because I did not know as I was involved with ensuring full honors were rendered to another American hero and Navy Seal. Today, SOC Lance Vaccarro was laid to rest in Reading, PA. May he rest in Peace. FYI, He was the Seal that died during a parachute training accident in Arizona.

Yes - a sad day for all.
Sidenote. I'm in P-cola this weekend and happen to be staying with the XO of the squadron that lost the plane and crew. It really hit home Friday night when I first heard the news and they identified which squadron had the mishap. I knew that he was suppose to be out of town on a x/c so it was a relief to hear his voice when he called to say that he was back in town. Needless to say he has been living on the phone this weekend.
Take heart though that the military is doing everything they can for the families of both aircrew. I will gladly pass along the condolences of the forum members to the command.

MAGNUM -

Sorry to hear that. I haven't seen any news. Condolences to that fellow warrior's family and friends as well.

I fly with VT-6 and though I did not know him well but spoke with Yaggi on many occasions, including the day before the mishap. He was known as being a stand up guy. May he and the student RIP.

Bunk22 -

Hope the squadron is handling this difficult situation well. Saw the MDR. I'll be keeping an eye out for the SIR. Fly safe and continued thoughts for family and friends.

I think so. Today was the memorial service with the missing man at the end. Very touching...sad day.
