Amazing Helmet

Have any other pilots heard of or seen any of these? It's amazing what new technology is being used in the skies.......... Defense Tech: The Freaky F-35 Lid

Some of the comments following the article are good for a few laughs.

"Can it see through chicks clothes?"

"I for one welcome our fancy helmeted overlords."

If I remember correctly, this helmet will eventually replace all of the other fighter helmets in inventory. Right now we're tying to get the curriculum developed for the maintainers. The question right now is who is going to be responsible for fixing these things, PR's or AT's etc....

And to think I remember when Kevlar was the new cool thing in helmets!

And I'm wondering how the thing feels at 9 G's.. They musta made the thing feather-light, right?

That sure looks like it'd be fun to wear for 8+hours

Pretty sure the JSF will only be a 7G platform, and that's on a good day. The current HMCS in the F-15/16/18 weighs about 5lbs all told. A little awkward at first, but no issue with the Gz after about two sorties or so. Not sure about this one.

As of right now the F-35 is a 9G platform.
