i was talking to a retired marine pilot and he told me that the mechanics would sometimes steal parts off of the aircraft that have been turned into statues (i have no idea what those things are called but it's when they take an old airplane and put it on a stand and use it as a statue)

thanks for posting that.

Default I hear ya

It's not far from the same in the Air Force too! Dumb F%$# leadership with their priorities all screwed up. They care more about being a "yes man" robot for the institution than doing the right thing. I believe there is going to be a large exodus of the 1998-99 and maybe more, year groups despite a possible $25,000/year bonus!!

Too bad this foul-mouthed loser didn't have the sack to sign his name and rank to the rant. Sorta takes the old credibility air right out of the sails.

Your wrong 2DOTS, this man is smart. He is not going to step on is dick walking out the door. I ran into the same attitude he's talking about when I was in the AF and had a USMC Maj. as a squad. commander. What a Major tool!! I had no rest and he still made me fly, just so he could take leave and get his stuff done. Thats no way to run an organization.

My problem goes to this pilot's credibility. Posting an anonymous, profanity-laden rant on a backwater blogspot isn't going to do much good for anybody concerned. The prose smacks more of an amatuer rapper-wannabe than of a Marine Corps officer and aviator. Granted, there have always been problems with the "military" way of doing things, but it has been my experience that compared to the operation of say...the airline I was flew for, hell, even my current Fortune 500 corporation...it was a smooth-running enterprise. If, big if, this loser is what he says he is, he's obviously not one of the 6 or 8 guys in every organization I ever worked with who could cut through the chaff, and find ways to get things done. Funny thing, it's still that way. Flying in a green bag, a really cool uniform with stripes and wheel hats, or in slacks and a logoed golf shirt, makes no difference. Same group of guys see the problems, and work on them despite the indifference/incompetence/interference of commanders, MECs and management, or chief pilots. Long way of saying that I raise the BS flag on this dude's credentials. BTW, what kind of USAF flying squadron was commanded by a jarhead, and a major at that? Wow!

You are full of it dude. Why don't you come up with a better story? One thing does ring true though, you need a Marine Corps major to ram his boot up your butt.

Less people doing more work with less equipment......................

Can't blame anyone for feeling this way.
