ATP at the FSDO with your Form 8
Ok the latest rumor is that if you take your ATP written and your AC upgrade form 8 to the FSDO they will cut you an ATP...thoughts? Sounds too good to be true to me, or maybe depends if you get the right guy?

That would be great if it is true.
I remember needing to convince the FAA guy that helped me that he could remove my centerline thrust restriction. I needed to provided a Form 8 and flight records to prove I had flown in the last year. They want a Form 8 signed in the last 12 months...even though the Form 8 is good for 18 months.
What made it worse is the guy was almost deaf...try to talk loud in a convincing tone while trying to sound nice and get what you want...

I dunno..all my buds have been getting their ATP on the side at a local airport up here with a well known guy that makes it very easy. Folks fly in from all over the country. What you are describing is a great rumor that I hope is true?

I understand that. You have to fly a non-centerline thrust aircraft to do that. So, I was asking on what basis were you able to remove it? In other words, what non-CL thrust aircraft where you flying?

When you call the FSDO to make an appointment, they'll tell you what to bring. I believe it was basically your Flight Records Folder with the "Pilot" Aeronautical Rating, letter from the T-1 squadron saying you passed a T-1 Instrument/Qual Check. If you don't have your commercial, you also need to bring your Military to Commercial Written Test, and letter from the T-6 squadron (so you can get your Commercial SEL as well). Do this at the FSDO that services your UPT base, technically these things are done under of a letter of agreement between that specific FSDO and the UPT Base.

I would not accept it even if offered...if anyone ever noticed that you did not have the required training, a logbook endorsement, 8710, and a checkride, the poop would hit the fan. At the very least you would have to take the checkride, but most likely the FAA would revoke all of your privileges. And your airline employer would fire you.
