For anyone interested, the next two deadlines for putting a DCA transition package in are: 5 Oct 15 and 14 Mar 16.

Are they taking old retired people yet? :D

Are there any Army guys here that have made the transition? I have a few questions about the process; I have reason to believe it's not as easy as getting a DD Form 368 signed from what I've heard.

Would be nice... but max time in service is 10 years. That's one of the few things there is no waiver for.

I made the transition from the Navy. But my good friend (who sits in the desk right beside me) is an Army DCA. I'm sure he would be willing to answer any question if you pm me (or post it here). I've been on both sides of the interview table here in the CG. My CO signed my conditional letter of release over a year prior to my end of obligated service. I just told them what my availability date was when I interviewed. The Coast Guard has gotten stricter since then, so they now publish a date range for commissioning for each board.

From the announcement: "In Fiscal Year 2016, applicants with fixed wing experience will be especially desired."

Are the airlines hiring or something?

Anything is waiverable - especially if times get hard enough.
When you guys are hard-up enough - - give me a call!
Remember 'Independence Day'? Old guys can SAVE THE DAY!:D

If they'd waive that, I'd jump on it.

Hey, the worst they can say is no! Of course to get them to say no (or yes) you have to submit a boat load of application paperwork

In 1963 the army had a direct entry to W/O-fixed wing, by Tet '68, the guys that I knew were all gone.
