Unfortunately, this time the problem seems to be more involved. We have a former FAA NAVAIDs Technician working on the problem, but he needed to gain access to a publication which was not on hand. I should know more about their repair early next week when he returns to the airport for a follow-on visit.

I wonder if KCUB is getting ready for a commissioning inspection.
Do you know if they are planning on turning their GPS approach into a LPV approach? That requires commissioning of the PAPIs.
Thanks for sharing the info though.

I don't know about the LPV. What's cheaper - enhancing LOC->ILS or GPS->LPV?? There is a LOC that takes you to 660 and the GPS which goes to 680.

For even more thread drift - why would they have a TAF for a GA feeder airport 7 miles away from CAE? 99.9% of the time they are identical. I think it's been 2 or 3 years since CUB started reporting a TAF.

I think it's been 2 or 3 years since CUB started reporting a TAF. Geographically they are similar. There is a river close to CUB, but again the CUB/CAE TAFs are usually the same.

Default Airspace System Inspection Pilot

Clue32,

Did the gentlemen say they were in the Airspace System Inspection? If so did you get any contact information. I am looking for interview and testing information for that position.
