FAA Flight Check

Unfortunately, this time the problem seems to be more involved. We have a former FAA NAVAIDs Technician working on the problem, but he needed to gain access to a publication which was not on hand. I should know more about their repair early next week when he returns to the airport for a follow-on visit.

.................., repair of the PAPIs has always been easy (replacing lamps or reset power) and, therefore, immediate.

Do you know if they are planning on turning their GPS approach into a LPV approach? That requires commissioning of the PAPIs.
Thanks for sharing the info though.

I don't know about the LPV. What's cheaper - enhancing LOC->ILS or GPS->LPV?? There is a LOC that takes you to 660 and the GPS which goes to 680.
For even more thread drift - why would they have a TAF for a GA feeder airport 7 miles away from CAE? 99.9% of the time they are identical. I think it's been 2 or 3 years since CUB started reporting a TAF.

A long thread but an up-to-date and accurate thread that will be able to answer your questions.
