It's official now. Overall good thing and about time, but biggest downside is it is Not retroactive to 9/11.

Baby steps I guess... It would be real nice to credit any active duty time served while on active duty prior to initial separation, but then again that would truly be a move to a Total Force

I'm trying to make sure I understand this. Do TP and UTA pay periods count toward the 90 days? I know AT days don't, but I don't know if I just missed it. Either way, it still sounds like a good thing.

Sorry, I am pretty new to the reserve system myself so I am unsure exactly what UTA and TP days are. I did get the MPA days count, but not AT. I didn't see a clarification on IDT days.

Inactive Duty is not eligible for reducing eligibility age for retired pay

This was on slide 6 of 11. AFTP/GTP/UTA/RMPs and any other IDT pay status I may have missed don't count. Sorry Guys

I have to start out with an apology as well since I don't really understand much of this.

Does this mean that after you have earned enough points for a reserve retirement, then each 90 day period after that reduces the age you can start getting retirement by 90 days at a time?

Thanks for any clarification.

Hey C, looks like for each 90 days total in a fiscal year that you are on orders, not annual tour or UTA days, like I am on now, you will move your retirement age back by 3 months. I figure I have moved mine back 6 months already...sweet.

Thanks for the clarification - as long as you can get 90 days a year knocked out this is an awesome deal. My separation date of 1 Aug 09 was approved yesterday, hopefully I'll be putting thread into action soon!

I'm not following this completely.

11 years active, 11 more and counting in the Guard.
Are my first 11 active going to be a factor in this or just active duty orders, etc. since being in the Guard.

Thanks,
AD
