1. THIS MESSAGE ANNOUNCES THE CNAFR SQUADRON NATIONAL PILOT SELECTION BOARD TO BE HELD ON 20 MAY 2009. THIS BOARD WILL BE OBSERVED BY FORCE LEADERSHIP FOR BOTH CONDUCT AND EFFECTIVENESS, TO CONSIDER APPLICANTS FOR ASSIGNMENT TO RESERVE COMPONENT SQUADRONS. APPLICATIONS SHOULD BE RECEIVED BY POCS BY 10 MAY 2009.

2. APPLICANTS CAN APPLY FOR UP TO 3 COMMUNITIES. APPLICANTS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR EVERY COMMUNITY, BUT THE BOARD WILL TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION MULTI-ENGINE TIME, PREVIOUS DESIGNATIONS AND TIME TO TRAIN AS A FACTOR IN SELECTION. THE NATIONAL BOARD MAY SELECT SEVERAL ALTERNATES IN THE EVENT THOSE SELECTED DO NOT ACCEPT ORDERS. IF SELECTED, AVIATORS SHALL AGREE TO COMPLETE TRAINING AND BE FULLY QUALIFIED IN THE T/M/S AIRCRAFT WITHIN THREE YEARS OF SELECTION. ALL SELECTED AVIATORS WILL BE EXPECTED TO ACHIEVE ANNUAL 3710 NATOPS FLIGHT HOUR MINIMUMS: 100 HOURS FOR PILOTS AND 48 HOURS FOR NFOS. APPLICATIONS MAY BE SUBMITTED UP TO 180 DAYS PRIOR TO SEPARATION FROM ACTIVE SERVICE. PACKAGES SHALL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:
A. A COVER LETTER ADDRESSED TO THE PILOT SELECTION BOARD.
B. A CURRENT RESUME.
C. LETTER(S) OF RECOMMENDATION.
D. FULL LENGTH, COLOR KHAKI PHOTO. REQUEST E-MAIL DIGITAL FORMAT TO POC.
E. COPY OF PERFORMANCE SUMMARY RECORD (PSR) OR SERVICE BRANCH EQUIVALENT. EMAIL THE POC THE ADOBE FORMAT OF ALL PAGES, ACCESSIBLE FROM THE ICON IN THE TOP RIGHT CORNER OF THE PAGE (VISIT WWW.BOL.NAVY.MIL).
F. TEN MOST RECENT OFFICER FITNESS REPORTS.
G. LAST COMPLETED PAGE OF MOST RECENT AVIATOR'S FLIGHT LOGBOOK AND SUMMARY OF MISHAPS PAGE.
H. COPY OF NATOPS JACKET SECTION II-A SUMMARY SHEET, DESIGNATIONS.
I. COPY OF NATOPS JACKET SECTION III-B SHOWING MOST RECENT PHYSIOLOGY AND SWIM SURVIVAL TRAINING.
J. AWARDS AND ANY OTHER INFORMATION FOR CONSIDERATION BY THE BOARD.
K. A MEMO FROM A NAVY FLIGHT SURGEON STATING APPLICANT IS PHYSICALLY QUALIFIED AND AERONAUTICALLY ADAPTABLE FOR THE MISSION COMPLETED WITHIN 60 DAYS PRIOR TO THE SELECTION BOARD DATE (A COPY OF NAVMED 6410/2 CLEARANCE NOTICE (UPCHIT) DOES NOT MEET THIS REQUIREMENT).
L. OFFICER QUALIFICATION QUESTIONNAIRE (CNAVRES 1301/4). STANDARD NAVY QUESTIONNAIRE CONTAINING YOUR EDUCATION AND PRIOR DUTY STATION INFORMATION.
M. SUMMARY OF FLIGHT ACTIVITY, SERVICE ASSIGNMENTS, AND PERTINENT QUALIFICATIONS.
N. SUMMARY OF CIVILIAN JOB ACTIVITY, IF APPLICABLE, AND MONTHLY RESERVE DRILLING AVAILABILITY.
O. A LIST OF OTHER NAVAL RESERVE UNITS TO WHICH APPLICATIONS HAVE BEEN SENT.
P. PHONE NUMBER AND ADDRESS FOR MOST RECENT COMMANDING OFFICER OR EXECUTIVE OFFICER.

3. APPLICANTS MUST BE WITHIN 120 DAYS OF SEPARATION FROM ACTIVE DUTY, OR 180 DAYS WITH SEPARATION ORDERS IN HAND TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR CONSIDERATION.

4. FULL TIME SUPPORT (FTS) APPLICANTS WHO ARE CURRENTLY IN THE PLATFORM MAY BE CONSIDERED WHILE STILL ON ACTIVE DUTY.

5. APPLICANTS WHO ARE DRILLING WITH ANOTHER RESERVE FORCE SQUADRON(RESFORON) WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED UNLESS WRITTEN PERMISSION IS GRANTED BY THEIR COMMANDING OFFICER.

6. PACKAGES WILL BE DESTROYED WHEN NO LONGER REQUIRED BY THE BOARD OR RETURNED TO CANDIDATES IF REQUESTED. PLEASE BLACK-OUT FIRST FIVE DIGITS OF ALL SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBERS.
