AFOQT help
 

I live near McQuire AFB, and I need to get my AFOQT taken before June 14th. I've tried to call the testing center almost every business day for the last few weeks, and always get the answering machine. The unit I'm puting my UPT packet in is hosting the test in July, after the June 30th deadline for the UPT packets. Does any one have any suggestions as of how else to get the test taken? Need to get it taken care of, any info is appreciated.

The best way to find AFOQT locations and dates for me, was to call the local recruiters office. He was very helpful and put me in touch with an officer recruiter. The officer recruiter then gave me locations and dates of multiple testing centers that were in a few hours drive of where I live. That worked for me.

My recruiter scheduled mine at MEPS. I'm not sure if there is a MEPS close to McGuire, but I'm pretty sure it's offered like once a week or something at the one I went to. Talk to your recruiter, see if he/she can help you get one scheduled before your deadline.

Try to call some of the AFROTC detachments at your local universities, they usually offer it a few times a semester because the cadets have to take the test as well.

Thanks for the info....I went to the local recrutiers. They all said I had to have my degree finished before I can take the test. I'll try the local university.

Things I'm sure have changed since I took the AFOQT in 98, but I think the recruiter info you received was not correct. I was a sophomore in college and had not signed an rotc contract and took the test. I was taking rotc classes but never contracted with them and joined the air national guard, so you may want to ask the question again to either a different recruiter or try a local university that has an rotc program. If they didn't allow people to take the test before graduation, there would be no way to determine who was getting a pilot slot in an rotc detachment until after they graduated and that is not the way it goes. Like I said, things may have changed, but I doubt it.

The women at McGuire does not answer that phone. No one does... There IS a way to take it at McGuire, but I dont know how... I just took mine at U delaware..hour drive down from NJ...also try st joes, and rutgers.... this time of year may be tough. I took my tbas at mcguire, my recruiter had to set it up though....

just google those detachments and call yourself thats what I did!

yeah you dont need a degree to take it. I was 23 and took it with a bunch of 18 yr olds

That's BS... I took it before I had my degree finished... as a matter of fact I'm pretty sure it's a requirement for all cadets on contract or scholarship at AFROTC (the cadets at the place I took it had like a week notice - basically it was like ... "oh hey, by the way...you need to take the AFOQT next Monday") ..... Which really helps you out in the percentile ranking.

Call any nearby AFROTC det., ask for the testing officer... he'll give you a date. The test itself is really easy, almost a highschool level deal... the TBAS on the other hand.......that was challenging.

Test is not easy when your in your mid twenties... It should be taken after highschool....
