It's cool BDGERJMN, there are many people who take AR for granted. And because the crews are so proificient at it today and make it look really easy, that's going to happen.

And that is fine with me. But they all cry like babies when it goes bad and they have to divert or the tanker isn't close enough.

I see your point FB, I do, I guess we take it for granted in the Navy because we ALWAYS have to tank on every mission when we're at sea.

You're right. Fighter AR (especially Navy fighter AR where all we have to do is not overspeed the MPRS on retraction) is not much more than ADMIN. You show up, get on the hose, take your gas, and leave. The tanker pilot can eat his sandwich while you're tanking.

Refueling a fully loaded C-5, or leading a four-ship of KC-135s to refuel a E-4B loaded with civilians that will call your MAJCOM if you screw it up requires a bit more thought.

And managing a 100k offload with a fuel totalizer that was apparently manufactured by HASBRO practically requires a college degree in adding and subtracting.
