Default Re-take FE written?

I just got my ATP and took the FE written (as part of a package deal). ATP went very well, but I scored a 90% on the FE written--the prep wasn't as good as I'd heard or expected I've heard some folks say that for FedEx and UPS, they want to see 99% or 100%, yet others tell me that 90% is fine--letters of recommendation are most important. Just wondering if I need to spend another $295 at All ATPs for the FE written. Any ideas? I am so new to this!

Can't speak for UPS or FedEx hiring criteria but I would NOT spend the extra money. If you had got a 70 or 72 that would be another matter. A 90 percent will be more than acceptable to most places, if not all. Good Luck!

Thanks for the input...seems like several folks think 90% is not high enough, but others say it is--they need to get rid of those 72s and DC-8s!

I worked an at-home study program through Lone Eagle Aviation. You can go out to Phoenix and attend a weekend program (didn't do this) or do an at home program. I did the online version and got a 100%. I felt well prepared for this test and I learned the material not just memorizing answers (although there is a lot of that to). Anyway, you get a workbook that you should go through 3 times before testing. Took about 4 hours to work through the entire thing not counting practice weight and balance problems. After completing the workbook and within 3 days of testing, you can access a website that allows you to practice the test online (you get 20 hours of online time in a 3-day period to force you to do this pretty much all at once). Anyway, I was pleased. The cost is $175.

At a FedEx "meet and greet" the ACP told me there was no reason not to get a 100%. Missing 1 or 2 was ok, but more than that didn't look good. There's too much competition out there, you don't need any help getting overlooked for something in your control. I did a home study course and got a 100%, so I'd save the money and go that route. Good luck
