JOPA = Junior Officer's Protective Association. (Unofficial unionization among junior officers.)

No, it's not bad.

No, not responsible for the Tomcat demise--that was politics and $$.

Hope this helps,

Similar to the LPA (Lieutenants Protection Association) in the A.F.

One change db - Capt (for Marines/AF) and I think CPT for Army - not CAPT (USN/CG)

JORA? Never heard of it.

Useless Trivia but Crucial to those of you going to Joint Jobs or Pentagon Jobs.

AF -- 2Lt, 1Lt, Capt OR 2nd Lt, 1st Lt, Capt
Marines --2ndLt, 1stLt, Capt
Army -- 2LT, 1LT, CPT
Navy -- ENS, LTJG, LT (an O-6 is a CAPT not a Capt in Navy)

See what staff jobs do to ya!

Don't know if you meant to quote me or the other person - but I am agreeing with you on the abbreviations. I looked it up a long time ago - but I remember the Flag ranks being a little tougher. I can't remember the pub/reg that I used - but after finding it I saw that many different military publications mixed and matched the ranks; it got confusing for sure. TV shows certainly aren't a good source of information Fun times though being a Captain in the Marines and stationed with the Navy. Usually got great responses when on the phone

So...do you know what JORA is?
