Anybody been to T-38 PIT at RND lately?
PM me. Got a new gig and looking for the gouge for housing, studies, etc, at Randolph. Very familiar with SA. Mostly need PIT info for the 38 side. Thanks.

I finished PIT in September. Took me 12 weeks to get through. The billeting on base is absolutely horrible. I stayed there for about a month and could not take it any longer and moved off base to one of the PIT Crash pads for the same price each day. Granted, I was there in the middle of the summer, and the rooms were about 85 degrees inside as the AC did not work, but now being winter time it may not bee too bad. However, the billeting rooms had bed bugs, black mold, etc, and the leadership did nothing to get us better quarters. The nice VAQs there they will not let PIT students stay in them. If you have any specific questions, shoot me a PM. PIT itself on the 38 side is actually pretty laid back, I have a bomber background and it was not that difficult to get back to that sort of flying. Only one academic test (can't fail, spoon fed), and flying once a day, sometimes twice a day. I do not think I ever left the squadron after 4pm each day.

Where are you headed after PIT? We have a lot of inbounds to DLF. Stay off base, study a little, enjoy the off time.

Have you tried to call down to your gaining unit?

Going to advertise a T-6 AGR job in a few days also. Not on the boards yet, just a heads up it will be. AGR is a good gig, no matter the airframe. Pretty good money (they get the bonus(s)) and it's dependable.

I was in Building 101, had nice cold A/C, and none of the creeping death mold and bugs you refer to. So, YMMV. |
