FedEx is .2 per sortie. the big thing is if you do, on the app there is a box box box to check asking - did you add in the conversion? Had some buds use Albie's service..... all flying purple now. Good luck.

Oops, .2. I fully intend on throwing money at Albies retirement fund if/when the time comes.

Delta wants the actual mil flight times input into Airline Apps, as well as number of mil sorties. It calculates new totals automatically. Not sure exactly what factor they use, but it added a few hundred hours to my time.

A repost edited to update. Just my two cents...take it for what its worth.

I've helped hundreds of military pilots make the transition to the exits over the last eight years, and thought I'd share my 2 cents on some suggestions. Watching quite a few military aviators make some (what I consider) mistakes I decided rather than venting to specific pilots I'd throw some shots out into cyberspace.

Rule one--start early! For you no-civilian rating/no civilian logbook types, here is a conservative guide. Yes...you can jump through your butt and try to do it all 90 days from your retirement/sep date, but even if you get a class date when you get out (not likely) you will at least be suffering a lot more stress than necessary.

Network--3 YEARS out. Keep a list of bros at the airlines. Send those Christmas cards...and emails. Visit. Ask about the lifestyle. Learn. Listen.

Albief15, hello there. Looks like you might be the guy to help me. I read in another post you like helping Navy Helo guys make the transition. I am 4 years away from retirement and starting my research early. I would like to bounce a few things off you. Do you have a service or something like that?

I see you're new here. 4 years is plenty of time to learn every detail you will need by reading posts here. Albie is too busy to answer every post. Just ask us, we'll answer and he will from time to time too.

Relatively new to the pursuit of an airline job search and one aspect I'm unclear on -- how much prior to Mil retirement can I submit applications? Albie's post says 18 months to 2 years out -- but can I really submit this early? Thanks very much for sharing your expertise!

You can submit as early as you want. The apps allow you to list an availability date.

Thanks - Appreciate the info.

I'd submit early and update often. Even after you get hired you have up to 12 months to accept a class date.

Or at the very minimum, fill out the app 3-4 years prior, and then don't publish until you are in the window.

Figure out what info you need for airlineapps and pilotcredentials.

Gathering up all of the info for the app takes some time. Remember filling out that security clearance questionnaire? The applications are just like that, except with 10 times the additional detail.
