Two thumbs up for the Sheppard Air ATP Prep software! I just took the test after having the software for a week. An ATP Memory Aid comes with it as well as the testing supplement so you can see exactly what you will see on the test itself. The memory aid gives a bunch of tables to help you blast through all of the calculations from memory without actually calculating anything. I actually learned a lot while studying...overall, I would highly recommend it.

I concur. Took the test a few weeks ago. I can't imagine studying any other way for that test except using a prep course like SheppardAir. I'll be using their system for any other tests that I may take in the future.

Yes -- one of the best deals out there! Am glad to see they're still doing it. Too bad the IP who was also an examiner PCS'd a few years ago and they can't do the flying portion too anymore.

I heard it was really good so yall have confirmed it. I just didnt want to study ahead of time. I planned a day to go sit at All ATPs and just go through the bank all day and then take the test at 1800. I figure I will recommend the prep to guys that dont want to lose a day to take a 45 min test and the All-ATPs to guys who dont want to study ahead of time...

I did the Sheppard thing, only to limit my ALLATP experience to 2 days(ADS). My friends that did the whole package enjoyed it, but it was a brutal 3 days of memorizing.

It was painful trying to knuckle down and study, so if you are not the sit down a few hours each day guy, do the all inclusive 3 day gig.

I would highly suggest you NOT go do the all day AllATP cram session. I used AllATP for my ATP and Sheppard Air for my FE.

Unless you've seen the ATP test questions ahead of time, trying to learn all of the different CG questions, time distance fuel questions, myriad of FAR rule questions etc.; you're going to be very short on time come 1800 and you're going to be braindead!

When I did the AllATP gig, I finally just started memorizing answers. For example, "if i'm flying the 727 from NYC to DEN, the cruise mach is 0.78. the single engine best cruise altitude in the 737 from ATL to LGA is FL240." But there are hundreds of questions (840 maybe?) I had no time to learn how to do each problem. Not that I couldn't figure it out, I didn't have time to LEARN it.

Sheppard Air makes it VERY easy and there's no sense in learning a bunch of crap that the FAA feels is important !!!

I've never used it, but I've heard it's pretty decent for ALL written tests. From what they've told me, you can configure the software to ask questions that best suit your study habits.
