Hiring rated pilots

Anyone know of heavy units out there that are hiring current rated pilots. As the possibility increases of not having a job I am looking for a new home preferably east of the mississippi. Thanks

LIT is really close to MS. Does that count? Maybe Pope...both C130s based on your avatar

Have you checked out baseops.net? There are a lot of jobs on there. Good luck!

The KC-10s at McGuire are looking for pilots. Give them a call.

Try Westover. Must be willing to move to NE to increase your chances of getting hired though.

This process worked for me:
1. check out: Aviation Jobs Portal - Guard and Reserve Job Listings - Free Job Search Online
2. Find a unit that is near where you want to settle down(They want guys to be living local)
3. Give them a call and setup a visit during as many drill weekends as you can...to maximize your opportunity to meet as many as possible, this lets them get to know you and you want to see if it is something you want to be a part of.
4. Get all your required paperwork submitted to their hiring POC(probably the one you talked to while setting up a drill wknd visit), resume, cover letter, flight records, etc
5. Continue to visit until asked to come back for an interview(for out of cycle hiring boards) or visit as much as possible before their pre-determined interview weekend. From my experience over the past 2 years, most units have a hiring board once a year. A few hire whenever, as needed.
6. Don't get discouraged if you don't make it after your first interview, have a few units in mind in case the timing doesn't work with your first choice.

Good Luck!

Jackson, MS may have room for a few rated guys (less than 4 year captains) in the near future. C-17 experience is a plus. The next board will probably be in August.

I think the 709th at Dover might be looking for pilots too, not sure if they still are though.
