Separation PCS
 

Has anyone ever had to actually pay the military if their final PCS is to somewhere further than their home of record or the place they entered active duty?

When I got out my HOR had changed, for them to move me would have cost me out of pocket because my new place was further away. I opted for the do it yourself move and got reimbursed for expenses after submitting paper work. Did it for cheaper with uhaul and still got the money back. You can request an advance, of course this was in 2006, I don't know how it is now.
