KC135/B707 Question
Hi guys,
I have a friend who is working on a film and has asked me to find out the distance laterally between the aft door and the main wheels in feet... They don't want a slant distance or any vertical, just lateral. The plane they are referring to is one of the 707's used as Air Force One... I didn't know a better place to ask that information, so if anyone knows it would be appreciated! EDIT: They're interested in spec's for Air Force Once in the time when JFK was president. |
You might find someone at Boeing who actually has the drawings or maybe look in their museum;

The Pima Air and Space museum also has a VC-137. Keep in mind, a C-135 is a different fuselage than the C-137.

I just watched a movie where they shoved the boom of a KC-135 90* into the fuselage of another aircraft so they could shimmy people across. :rolleyes:
I'm thinking a good swag on the distance would be sufficient :D |

The movie your thinking of is "Airspeed." I'd say the only good thing about that movie was that Elisha Cuthbert was in it. However, she was only 14 or 15 at the time so that would make me kind of creepy! The movie was absolutely terrible and I only saw the last 45 minutes or so. It was like watching a train wreck and I couldn't keep my eyes off it. 45 minutes of my life I will never get back. I actually lost brain cells.
