Troll,D.B.,Non-Hacker,Jealous, SIE-Self Initiated Elimination(Snarge... that means you QUIT),Rejected for a flight school slot... Who knows but I find it funny that this person only gets his/her needed attention by breaching social norms that most reasonable persons would not. He/She comes here and insults those that freely stood up and raised their hands and fought for the chance to serve.

You pick, anyway this troll make me laugh. It's like sitting in a university class listening to a college professor (who is an unassailable big fish in a little pond that never left the frictionless environment of academia) drone on about their view of the world and how they think it should work.

I feel for the new hire 20 something regional FO stuck on a 4-Day pairing with this sad person. Hopefully they read the contract and know how to trade away their trips from this Eeyore.

What an amazing, heart-warming story. That simply act of humanity had so much meaning and changed so many lives in a positive way.

My Grandmother lived in Vienna during WWII. Vienna was bombed a lot by American aircraft. WWII bombing was a nasty one where demoralizing the enemy by killing its civilians was a big part. The US did participate in bombing raids where the objective was to bomb the civilians within the cities.

My Wife's Father was in Vietnam. He didn't talk much about it, but he mentioned one time, before he passed, something that bothered him was how badly they dehumanized them. Torture, rape, etc..

The Civil War, fight between Americans, burned towns and murdered other American civilians, as well as other atrocities.

War isn't pretty, and it can turn anyone into a monster.

The '64' in my screen name is there because of an aircraft I used to fly, including employing it in Combat. You do not need to tell me anything about combat or what it does to someone.

Either you failed this attempt at reading comprehension or I wasn't clear as needed so I'll explain: My post was aimed at someone that only comes to this board with ill intent. Got it?

Move on.

I guess I did. I wasn't trying to come off as a jerk, and I'm new so I don't know the history between most. it did sound as if you were getting on him simply for saying that our nation have criminals of war as well.

I promise I'm not coming on here with ill intent. I just want to chat about peoples experiences and get a good idea of what I would get into if I tried making this a career.

64, as in Apaches? A real machine. Two of my buddies fly them now. I had a flight contract for the Marines, but MEPs did not like my medical history of childhood asthma. I was thinking of trying again, and to go Army, but seems like things are really winding down now and they are not interested in any new pilots. Plus I got married...

I think a career part time flight instructor, alongside a full time job suits my path and would be something I enjoy.

This is what I should've reposted....video interviews of the pilots involved. Incredibly moving...particularly in how they spoke of one another in their retirement age.

Reposted here for these men and their amazing story.

3:40...."Franz, what were your feelings when you met again, for the first time (face to face)?"

Just, wow.
