I always looked at that as them saying, "these maneuvers can be flown in any fleet aircraft", meaning that there are no significant changes to either the Blues' or Thunderbirds' aircraft (engines, FCS, etc.) to allow them to do their specific maneuvers. Just like the Rhino, Hornet, and Viper demos are all done by unmodified aircraft, unlike the Su-35 demo which is a heavily modified aircraft (at least that's what I've always heard).
But yes, I would be wary seeing a former Blues jet rolling in the groove behind the boat...

That is a great picture Huggy.

The Boss on a Cat. I wonder if he turned his smoke on before he was launched? Good PR shot from back then. What are the chances of seeing that in the Pensacola paper tomorrow? It's too bad these guys are being forced to sit down for the year, and possibly more.

I guess it leaves them lots of time for the Flora-Bama

There's a great shot out there of the Boss taking a trap that day too. I just cannot find it on the net.

That would be RADM Pat "Blood" Driscoll, former Blues CO who recently retired having completed his latest tour as the Deputy Commander, US Pacific Fleet. Blood was my CAG in Japan during OIF/OEF 2001-2005 and a natural leader. I have had the pleasure to work for him both on active duty and as a civilian employee for the Navy. He will be sorely missed.
