Ooopsies! Blue Angel 7 taxi incident
New callsign "Iceman?" Where's Val Kilmer?
Blue Angels plane slips on Brunswick runway Oh, that's right...he's an airline pilot now. ;) Anyway, glad the jet wasn't damaged/no one hurt. |
I propose: "Broadie"
|
Wow, he was so ticked off he killed the engines!
|
Trained in P-cola (FL), Kingsville (south TX), Lemoore (Central CA), and stationed in Beaufort (SC).
His first time seeing ICE?!?:D First time I've seen a Marine as #7 too. Edit to the above: As was pointed out on another site - Sorry 'Loni' ('02-'04)- I forgot all about you :o |
Loni isn't #7.
|
Never mind. I'm wrong. Apparently, there are 2 Loni's involved with the Blues.

It is a good thing that was a F-16, they're very strong.
|
F-18.. Viper gear is narrow; wouldn't have been good.

I imagine the PIO was in the back seat, already figuring a story. Too bad they can't include the "groundabatics" in their routine. I'll bet that was some ride.

Edit - -she was the Events Coordinator - not the PAO. |
Had a few wild rides at Elmendorf back in the day in an F-15. Never left the surface, but probably ruined a couple seat cushions along the way. A technique was to shut an engine down after the aero-brake to reduce the thrust. Pushing on brake pedals with nobody home was one of the most uncomfortable feelings in aviation....

Had a couple wild rides with the NP2000 system (newfangled 8 blade prop) on the E-2. Select ground idle or reverse, and the prop computer decides you only get one below flight idle.. yeehah! (no anti skid in the E-2 at any speed) |

That was the pilot. The gal talking said captain on the screen. She has bars on a Navy hat.

Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk The Events Coordinator - who was riding in the backseat - is also a Marine Captain - - a WSO (Weapons Systems Operator) in the F/A-18Ds. Blue Angels: United Officers, Their Roles & Responsibilities The bars on the 'cover' are Captain's bars - - but look at the insignia. EGA. |

What about us poor saps taxiing from the north side with our snow blowers in and out of reverse?! (Uphill both ways, of course):D |
