Military and Veteran Pilot Association
 

Greetings pilots, a few folks got together from a couple of regionals and the Big 4 and started an organization called the Military and Veteran Pilots Association. We are a non-profit group that aims to provide transitioning military aviators with the resources required to successfully enter a civilian aviation career. Our cadre are a collective of AD, veteran, and civilian alike. All members receive access to our forum board, social profiles, private messaging from member to member, and access to our member database to see what other member's qualifications were when they were hired but their current employer. It's pretty much Facebook/Linked in for pilots. We have a wide staff of mentors across the regional industry and the Big 4 to help field various questions you may have for a potential employer. Our members also receive a discount when purchasing interview prep services through a very prominent prep company. Membership is free and open to all pilots. In the spirit of volunteerism, I have to offer that reading the web site made my head hurt. It reads like this:

What is it exactly that you do? It appears that the sole purpose of the site is to build a list to sell "partnered services" to. How is the site different from Facebook, or APC, or the other dozens of pilot forums out there?

As a suggestion, you need to make that clear.

It sounds like something Tina Fey would say in her Sarah Palin character role in a SNL skit. :)

Sorry guys, that was written by our half-wit attorney we picked up out of free agency from the FAA. He gone now, so you don't have to worry about remarks like that ever coming again. As for what we do...

You can look at other pilots profiles and see their qualifications and flight time when they were most recently hired
Oh and we will be hosting a career fair in Denver in early 2017 that provides veteran preference to military and veteran pilots rather than seniority "fast passes".

Well, to me, the quote sounds like the cut-n-paste used by spammers. And the retribution to lay blame on an attorney (and throw him under the [air]bus) raises my suspicions......Not even an attorney would write something as incoherent as that for an aviation job-site. There's not one thing in that quote that makes sense for the alleged purpose of this site.

So, I would proceed with caution....this may be a personal-data mining site.

or...you could go to Facebook and join "the pilot network" and see the names and faces of the sources of info...

...or if you are a gold wing type...go to "The Lab" and work with you bros for info...

Lots of resources out there. Information is free in the internet age. If you want to pay for some services...there are a few companies out there that seem to have a good rep. I'm obviously biased, but no matter who you use do a little research first.
